Melissa Shane

I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (Illinois License 180008837) and my educational background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Counseling, both from Bradley University. I have extensive experience teaching in higher education, corporate training, and providing therapy to children, adults and families in our community.

I enjoy helping adults deal with managing life stressors and dealing with difficult people. I partner with adults of all ages to find solutions and direction during stressful times.

I am passionate about helping modern families understand and navigate digital media and deal with issues like screen time, cyberbullying and sexting. I also like helping clients with gender and sexual identity issues and young people experiencing parental divorce and high conflict custody disputes.  I am  skilled at helping children, tweens, teens and young adults and their families find alternatives to self-injuring (cutting) and cope more effectively with depression and anxiety.

When people experience life changes or stressful events it is not uncommon for them to need a helping hand to get back on track. I am honored to help bring healing to people who have been through traumatic or stressful life experiences. I use a practical approach to help you, your child, or your family find real world solutions in a confidential manner.
